CE COURSE RELEVANCE AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES STATEMENT

MORNING COURSE: Insuring Value Added Automotive Components and Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

HOURS: Three (3) Property and Casualty

OBJECTIVES:
The primary course objective is to provide the agents an overview on the increase of value added automotive components and their potential impact on insurance policies, premiums and claims. This course provides a look at the growing influence of value added components, both for comfort and safety, and the motives that led to their development. Most of these new safety features are labeled Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and manufacturers predominantly mount accompanying cameras to the windshield. The replacement of a windshield now requires a re-calibration of these cameras and this service can add up to $300 or more per auto glass claim. Due to this required service, insurance agents must be aware of this potential impact to their loss ratio target, especially given the importance of claim satisfaction to customer retention.

AFTERNOON COURSE: The Role of Direct Repair Programs in Claims

HOURS: Three (3) Property and Casualty

OBJECTIVES:
The primary course objective is to give the agent a more complete understanding of how automotive repair shops are qualified for insurance direct repair programs (DRP) including automotive glass “Offer & Acceptance” contracts. These programs have impacted the repair process so we will take a historical look at how these programs have evolved over the past 3 decades. Further, this program reviews the claim process and the potential customer disconnects. We will examine the entire process flow from estimate to final delivery of the repaired vehicle. Having this understanding enables insurance personnel to better communicate with policyholders about the repair cycle so the agent can more accurately inform, assist, and protect their policyholder.
